The main difference is the supported electrical input. Sonex Caroma and Rozy Plus inverter variants list a 140–220V operating range; their separately listed AC/DC variants also specify 12V DC operation. Choose the exact electrical variant before selecting your finish.

What the labels tell you
BLDC describes a motor technology. An inverter-series label describes a product option. AC/DC indicates that an option is intended to support specified AC and DC arrangements, but the allowable inputs must still come from the exact model documentation.
Compare the listed Caroma and Rozy Plus inputs
| Variant / supply | Listed input | Listed operating figures |
|---|---|---|
| Inverter 30 Watt | 140–220V | Approximately 5–45W; 120–370 RPM; speed levels 1–6 |
| AC/DC / AC supply | 140–220V AC | Approximately 5–55W; 160–375 RPM; speed levels 1–6 |
| AC/DC / DC supply | 12V DC | Listed current: 3.5A; 120–335 RPM |
These figures come from the Caroma and Rozy Plus product descriptions. They do not apply automatically to another model or Rozy Plus's separate 220V option. The 220V option's complete performance figures are not supplied in those specification sections; confirm them before comparing efficiency.
Which option should you shortlist?
- For a household AC supply: compare the selected variant's documented input, controls and operating range with your installation.
- For a planned 12V DC supply: discuss the specifically listed AC/DC version with Sonex and your installer. Confirm polarity, suitable connections and the rest of the system before purchase.
- For a UPS or home inverter: the backup system's output and the fan's requirements must match. The word “inverter” in the fan name does not confirm compatibility with every UPS.
- For premium styling: Crystal, Marshal and Sapphire currently list inverter options with a 140–220V operating range. Their listings do not specify 12V DC input; confirm your intended supply with Sonex before purchase.
For the inverter options discussed here, browse the inverter ceiling fan collection. Check the exact model input requirements before selecting a fan for your power supply.
Planning for load shedding
Describe your backup arrangement to Sonex and your installer before buying. Ask which input the chosen variant supports, how it is connected and which protection or control equipment is required. A fan does not provide backup power by itself.
Solar compatibility needs a system check
Do not connect a fan directly to an arbitrary solar panel or battery on the strength of a product name. Have the actual system assessed against the fan’s documented input requirements. This guide does not publish a universal wiring diagram or promise compatibility with every solar or UPS setup.
Match the selected version to the specification
Use the section of the product page for the electrical version you are buying. If the description and selector disagree, obtain confirmation before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Is AC/DC the same as a BLDC motor?
No. BLDC identifies motor technology; AC/DC describes a supported power arrangement for a particular variant. The model's controller and input specification determine the supply it needs.
Does an AC/DC fan contain its own backup battery?
The Caroma and Rozy Plus listings describe DC input capability; they do not state that a battery is included. Confirm the power source and package contents with Sonex before ordering.
Will the fan run for a fixed number of hours during a power cut?
Runtime is not specified by the fan name. It depends on the power source, usable capacity, other connected loads and operating setting. Ask your installer to assess the complete system.
Which option will use less electricity?
Compare measured power at comparable airflow and usage. A series name or purchase price does not prove the saving. Use the fan running-cost guide for the calculation.
Confirm the order with a Sonex salesperson
Share the model, finish, quantity, city and the supply you intend to use: mains AC, UPS output or a specified DC system. Ask the team to confirm the exact variant and included controls before payment. Use the AC/DC collection for options, then verify each product's own requirements.
Ordering and after-sales support
Free delivery applies to all orders across Pakistan. A 10% advance payment is compulsory. Sonex provides a 7-year motor warranty and a 5-year kit/PCB warranty where fitted, subject to the warranty terms, plus free after-sales service. Replacement parts remain subject to coverage and exclusions.
