At an actual draw of 30W, one fan running 10 hours a day for 30 days uses 9 electricity units (kWh). At 45W for the same time, it uses 13.5 units. Multiply the units by your applicable electricity rate to estimate the fan's energy charge.
A Sonex “Inverter 30 Watt” series name does not mean fixed 30W consumption. Use the documented or measured power at your chosen setting. This guide helps you compare running cost and purchase price before choosing a fan.
Product information and selected prices checked 27 September 2026. Usage examples are calculations, not measured results for a particular fan or a current Pakistan tariff quotation.
Calculate fan electricity units per month
Monthly units (kWh) = watts × hours per day × days × number of fans ÷ 1,000. If you use different speeds during the day, calculate each period with its relevant power and add the results.
| Assumed operating power | 8 hours/day | 10 hours/day | 12 hours/day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5W | 1.2 | 1.5 | 1.8 |
| 30W | 7.2 | 9 | 10.8 |
| 45W | 10.8 | 13.5 | 16.2 |
The 5W, 30W and 45W rows are example inputs. They are not a power-by-speed chart, and they do not imply equal airflow at those settings. Three fans each drawing 30W for 10 hours a day use 27 units over 30 days.
Convert electricity units into a running-cost estimate
Multiply the calculated units by the applicable PKR-per-kWh rate from your electricity provider. For example, the 30W, 10-hour scenario costs 9 × your applicable per-unit rate for its energy use. This is not the full bill: fixed charges, taxes and adjustments may also apply. If your supply uses time-based or consumption-based rates, calculate using the rates that apply to that usage.
The watts-and-hours calculation follows the method explained by Virginia Cooperative Extension's appliance-energy guide. Use local billing information for the rupee estimate.
What the listed Sonex power range tells you
Crystal, Marshal and Sapphire are currently listed as 56-inch BLDC inverter models with approximately 5–45W consumption and six speed levels. A model-specific wattage for every speed is not supplied in those listings, so do not assign the example rows above to particular remote buttons.
Use the designer-fan guide to compare finishes and prices. If you are choosing an electrical option, read the AC/DC versus inverter guide before ordering.
Once you have estimated your usage, browse the Sonex inverter fan range to shortlist a model. Compare its documented operating power at your intended setting as well as its purchase price.

Compare payback without promising fixed savings
If two suitable fans differ in purchase price, divide that extra cost by your estimated monthly electricity saving. Use the actual power difference between the models at comparable use. If the power difference or electricity rate is unknown, a reliable payback period cannot be calculated.
What matters in a long-running bedroom fan
- Comfortable airflow at the speeds you actually use.
- The exact motor type and operating range.
- Compatible controls and installation requirements.
- Access to warranty and after-sales support.
- A finish you want to keep in the room for years.
Understand the power options before ordering
BLDC describes a motor type; 220V describes an electrical input; AC/DC identifies a power option. These labels answer different questions. A model name or matching colour does not make its electrical variants interchangeable.
The “Inverter 30 Watt” series name does not mean fixed 30W use at every speed. For example, the current Rozy Plus Inverter listing specifies 5–45W. Check the selected variant’s operating range and controls. For battery or solar use, confirm input voltage, polarity and connection requirements with Sonex and your installer.
Frequently asked questions
How many units does a 30W fan use in one hour?
At an actual draw of 30W, it uses 0.03 kWh, or 0.03 electricity units, in one hour. The “30 Watt Series” product name alone does not establish the operating draw.
How do I estimate electricity use for several rooms?
Calculate each fan using its operating watts and daily hours, then add the totals. Multiply one fan's result by the quantity only when the fans have the same power and operating schedule.
Will switching save a fixed percentage on my bill?
No. The result depends on the old fan, replacement fan, speed, hours and electricity tariff. Fans are only part of a household’s total consumption.
Where can I compare the full inverter price list?
See the Sonex Inverter Ceiling Fan Price in Pakistan 2026 for current model comparisons.
